Bosch China receives top charity award for community contributions

Bosch (China) Investment Ltd, headquartered in Shanghai's Changning district, has been honored with the Donor Enterprise of the second Shanghai Charity Award, a recognition of its long-standing commitment to public welfare and innovative philanthropic initiatives.

Since the establishment of the Bosch China Charity Center in 2011, the company has donated over 190 million yuan ($26.22 million), collaborating with 184 charity partners on more than 290 projects across 30 provincial-level regions. These efforts have benefited 1.2 million people and contributed to eight UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Bosch China's charitable contributions span education, poverty alleviation, rural vitalization, and community development.

The company has donated over 20 million yuan to educational causes, supporting first-year students in 28 universities nationwide. In addition to financial aid, Bosch China provides training, mentorship programs, and study visits to help students complete their higher education.

Bosch China is also dedicated to rural revitalization, focusing on industrial support and disaster recovery in remote areas of western and central China. In Honghe prefecture, Yunnan province, for example, the company has helped farmers develop high-quality agricultural products, boosting local economic opportunities.

To contribute to public welfare, it supports grassroots charity organizations. Between 2022 and 2023, it donated 2.97 million yuan to 24 emerging or small-scale non-profit organizations. Among the beneficiaries is the Dayu Community Development Center in Xinhua Road, Changning, which fosters community co-governance, social innovation, and talent development in urban renewal projects.

Additionally, Bosch China, in partnership with the Shanghai United Foundation, launched the Better Home Initiative, donating 1.1 million yuan to support 160 community activists across 15 districts in Shanghai.
