The third For Youth Beethoven China Music Festival opened in Shanghai's Changning district on Feb 28, marking the nationwide rollout of this flagship cultural exchange program between China and Germany.

During the opening ceremony, guests oversaw the launch of the festival and participated in a roundtable discussion themed on the catchphrases "Beethoven in My Heart" and "From the Rhine to the Huangpu", sharing their insights into music and culture.

As the only music festival in Asia to be authorized by the Beethoven Music Society, this year's event aligns with Changning's vision of becoming an international cultural hub. It features over 30 top musicians from China and Germany leading programs in piano, symphony, and choir. Special initiatives include professional workshops, urban symphony halls, and youth art camps.

The festival also enhances public cultural services, launching a Music and Urban Memory study program with Southwest University of Science and Technology alongside the weekly masterclass and monthly symphony season, featuring over 100 online and onsite activities.

Sun Zhenhua, chairman of Shanghai Garment Group, said, "Bringing this festival to Changning reflects our commitment to integrating the arts into urban life. By fostering international cultural exchange and cross-sector collaboration, we aim to enhance Changning's cultural landscape and contribute to Shanghai's global cultural brand."
