Changning district launched its global talent attraction initiative on June 11 at the Shanghai Hongqiao One-Stop Service Center for Overseas Talents.

The global talent attraction initiative aims to step up efforts to attract top talent and projects through a variety of activities, such as talent competitions and job fairs tailored to the needs of key enterprises.

To meet talent housing demand, Changning has introduced the talent housing project, offering up to three months of complimentary accommodation.

At the event, the center unveiled its new service package, which includes enhancements to three core functions: employment and entrepreneurship, social integration, and livestreaming.

In addition, four pioneering services have been introduced: identification of overseas Chinese in innovation and entrepreneurship zones, a streamlined medical examination process for work and residence permits for foreign nationals, a direct connection platform linking overseas talent with the center, and communication services for expats.

To help global talent better adapt to local life, seven comprehensive guides have been launched, providing valuable information on entry and exit procedures, investment and entrepreneurship opportunities, city tours, transit tourism, medical consultations, travel convenience, and pet care.

Since its upgrading on April 15, 2024, the Shanghai Hongqiao One-Stop Service Center for Overseas Talents has handled over 110,000 service cases, including more than 11,000 involving foreign nationals.
