Peeping Tom's hit production to make China debut in Changning

As part of the 24th China Shanghai International Arts Festival, the Belgian dance-theatre company Peeping Tom's Triptych: The Missing Door, The Lost Room and The Hidden Floor will be staged at the Shanghai International Dance Center at the end of October.

This marks the show's eagerly anticipated debut on the Chinese mainland.

The work was nominated in 2023 for the United Kingdom's prestigious Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production.

In the same year, it took home Spain's Premis de la Critica and the Les Eloges Award from the Paris Opera.

The performance features two distinct settings: The Missing Door unfolds in a room and hallway filled with doors that cannot be opened, while The Lost Room takes place inside a ship's cabin, focusing on the characters' inner worlds.

The audience becomes like a "peeping tom" — glimpsing the fragility and longing of human nature.

 

Shanghai audiences will experience it first-hand through three scheduled performances:

-2 pm, Nov 2
