The Port of Felixstowe, Britain's largest container port, has introduced a new fleet of self-driving trucks, the Q-Truck, supplied by Shanghai Westwell Technology Company from Changning district. The move advances the port's adoption of automated operations and cements its status as the first port in Europe to deploy autonomous trucks in a mixed-traffic environment.

The new vehicles are part of a 100-unit agreement signed between the port and Westwell in 2023. Each Q-Truck is equipped with an advanced sensor-fusion architecture, featuring a 360-degree industrial-grade binocular AI camera system and a 128-line LiDAR array for wide-coverage, high-precision environmental perception. The vehicles are fully electric and run entirely on certified renewable electricity, supporting the port's goal of achieving net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2035.

"Celebrating our 10th anniversary, Westwell is proud to empower the 150-year legacy of the Port of Felixstowe with its proprietary energy technology, driving intelligent transformation across the global logistics ecosystem. Hutchison Ports is a valued global partner for Westwell, and we look forward to continuing our close collaboration in the years ahead, driving meaningful progress in sustainable port development," said Kenny Tan, founder and chairman of Westwell, at the delivery ceremony.

Westwell's integrated SMART solution, combining sustainability, maintainability, global adaptability, replicability, and technical leadership, has become a cornerstone of its global expansion and is playing an increasingly important role in advancing efficient, intelligent, and greener port logistics worldwide.
