New startup hub for overseas returnees opens in Changning
Shanghai's Changning district unveiled its first startup hub for overseas returnees during an entrepreneurship exchange event at Shanghai International Trade Center on Nov 28. The new hub aims to support innovation and entrepreneurship among returnees by providing resources, policy consultation, and networking opportunities.
The event brought together more than 30 representatives from the Greater Hongqiao Overseas Alumni Association Alliance, the Changning network of the European and American Alumni Association, and local businesses, and focused on exploring entrepreneurial opportunities and discussing future development plans.
The new startup hub will offer a one-stop service platform for returnee entrepreneurs, helping them connect with key resources, engage in government-business dialogue, and access expert advice. Located at No 37 North Pusong Road in Changning district, the hub will regularly host events, where experts will share insights on entrepreneurship and career development.
Home to more than 6,500 foreign-invested companies, Changning continues to strengthen its role as a key economic and innovation hub in the Yangtze River Delta region. The district has made significant strides in supporting overseas returnees, establishing platforms such as the "Home for Overseas Students" and hosting various innovation and entrepreneurship events.
