A preparatory office has been established in Shanghai's Changning district to build the Yangtze River Delta Low-Altitude Economy Industry Cluster Development Alliance, it was announced at a recent preparatory meeting in Changning.

An initiative was launched during the meeting, describing the low-altitude economy as an emerging sector and a new driver for regional industrial upgrading.

The Yangtze River Delta region, with its strong research capacity, comprehensive supply chains, and diverse application scenarios, is well-positioned to develop a nationally competitive hub for the sector.

During a business roundtable session, representatives from nine companies and industrial parks shared their experiences ranging from infrastructure development and technology research to application scenarios and ecosystem building.

Participants said that given the rapid expansion of the low-altitude economy in the Yangtze River Delta, coordinated planning at the regional level has become increasingly necessary.

They said the alliance could serve as a platform to support enterprise growth, deepen industrial integration and assist governments in cultivating new economic formats, while promoting innovation sharing, coordinated development and industry standards.

Hongqiao International Central Business District, with Changning district at its core, is also home to the Shanghai Low-Altitude Economy Hall. The 1,200-square-meter facility is designed as a key platform for Changning's emerging low-altitude economy cluster, featuring exhibition areas, interactive zones and space for future expansion.
