The 2026 Shanghai Women's Half Marathon, held in Shanghai's Changning district, has drawn praise from runners both in China and overseas for its scenic course, lively atmosphere, and attentive services.

This year's event attracted 8,000 female runners, turning the streets of Changning into a vibrant celebration of sport and female empowerment on International Women's Day. Participants praised the race's smooth organization and the enthusiastic support of spectators along the route.

Champion Pan Hong, returning to the race after five years, said the flat course and strong crowd support helped her record her personal best on this course.

International runners also spoke highly of the experience. A participant from France described the event as one of her favorite races, while another runner from Italy highlighted the warm encouragement from volunteers and fellow runners throughout the course.

The route showcased Changning's distinctive urban landscape, passing Hongqiao Road, the Outer Ring Ecological Greenway, and the Suzhou Creek waterfront before finishing at Zhongshan Park.

With professional race organization, attentive services for runners, and strong volunteer support, the Shanghai Women's Half Marathon continues to grow into one of the city's signature sporting events, further enhancing Changning's reputation as a dynamic host for international competitions.
