Two major commercial and office projects in East Hongqiao are set for completion and delivery by the end of 2026, as Changning district continues to advance the transformation of a key area within the Hongqiao International Central Business District.

The Hongqiao Airport Commercial Plaza and Hongqiao Qihang Business Plaza have both entered the leasing and investment promotion stage, injecting fresh momentum into the district's ongoing urban renewal and functional upgrade.

Located next to Terminal 1 of Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, the Hongqiao Airport Commercial Plaza is conceived as an integrated "station-city" complex. With a total investment of about 2.5 billion yuan ($363.07 million) and a floor area of approximately 93,000 square meters, the project will be directly connected to Metro Line 10 and the airport terminal through underground passages and elevated walkways.

The complex will integrate commercial and office functions, featuring facilities such as a large-format 3D display and streamlined airport-related services. It will also provide premium office space built to advanced green building standards, with floor plates of around 2,600 sq m.

The Hongqiao Qihang Business Plaza, with a total investment of 1.54 billion yuan and a floor area of 62,300 sq m, will comprise leased offices, standalone office buildings for sale, and supporting commercial amenities. Positioned near the same transport hub, the project is expected to enhance service capacity in the airport area and set a benchmark for high-quality business environments.

The launch of the two projects comes as East Hongqiao undergoes a broader transformation, with efforts focused on addressing bottlenecks in urban renewal and reinforcing its role as a key business and aviation service cluster within the Hongqiao Intl CBD.
