Shanghai's Changning district launched its district-wide summer nightlife campaign on July 16, bringing together shopping, dining, entertainment, and cultural experiences as part of the Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season.

Crystal Bridge, the new mixed-use complex where the launch ceremony was held, began trial operations on the same day. The development combines office and retail space with gardens, sunken plazas, and an open-air theater.

The Shining Changning–Best Night campaign connects 10 areas across four major commercial hubs: Zhongshan Park, Hongqiao–Gubei, Linkong, and Xinhua. It is organized around four themes represented by the acronym BEST: Buy, Eat, Show, and Tour.

B-Shining Buy

A late-night dining voucher program is running from July 10 to 26. The offers are available from 6 pm to 11:59 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Diners who pay with Alipay's tap-to-pay feature at participating restaurants can automatically receive the following discounts:

· 16.6 yuan ($2.45) off purchases of 66 yuan or more

· 56 yuan off purchases of 266 yuan or more

· 96 yuan off purchases of 456 yuan or more

Nearly 70 participating restaurants across Changning offer everything from neighborhood snacks to international cuisine.

E-Shining Eat

Long-term night-market destinations include Tianshan Yeah Market at Xiansuo Creater MIX and Jiuhua Meitian Night Market. Some late-night dining outlets at Longemont City Life Center will remain open into the early hours. Crystal Bridge, Bailian Xijiao Shopping Center, and Jinhongqiao Mall will host themed evening markets.

Columbia Circle, M+ Xingfuli, Yuyuan Road and Wuyi Road will also stage limited-time night markets.

S-Shining Show

A range of evening performances and community events are scheduled throughout the summer. Visitors can experience live music at C·Park Music Park, participate in singing competitions at Longemont City Life Center, and attend open-mic nights, outdoor movie screenings, and sports-themed activities at Bailian Xijiao Shopping Center.

T-Shining Tour

The program also offers new ways to explore Changning after dark. Visitors can stroll through the revitalized M+ Xingfuli, home to the Shanghai debut of lifestyle retailer Fooknock; unwind at Raffles City Changning's outdoor leisure space; or join a Saturday-night program at the Shanghai Museum on People's Square, jointly presented with Shanghai Zoo, for a unique evening that blends wildlife and culture.
