A total of 30 startup teams pitched their ideas in the AI-focused One-Person Company (OPC) track of the 6th Shanghai Global Talents Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition, recently held in Shanghai's Changning district. Six projects received awards, five of which advanced to the next stage of the competition.

The competition received more than 60 entries from around the world. Nearly half of the 30 participating teams had overseas backgrounds.

Their projects focus on three fast-growing sectors: AI applications for global markets, direct-to-consumer cross-border e-commerce, and digital intellectual property. The focus aligns with Changning's strategy to strengthen the digital economy and professional services, and to support the international development of Hongqiao International CBD.

Hosted at the East Hongqiao International Youth Innovation Center, the event forms part of Changning's broader effort to establish Hongqiao as a hub for globally oriented startups. More than a pitching competition, it connects entrepreneurs with investors, cross-border business service providers, universities, and government resources, helping early-stage companies accelerate growth.

The event also marked the launch of Hongqiao HaiChuang Bay, a new incubation platform designed for entrepreneurs developing overseas. Integrating office space, startup incubation, policy consultation, business matching, and business establishment services, the platform provides ongoing support for commercialization, talent cultivation, and resources matching.
