On Aug 19, during Qixi Festival, 12 international guests took part in a themed event in Changning district, experiencing Chinese wedding traditions.

Their journey also led them to the new marriage registration center on Xingfu Road — a name that literally means "Happiness Road" in Chinese — where they uncovered some of Shanghai's sweetest love stories. Watch the video to follow along!

Since relocating to No 50 Xingfu Road in January 2026, the Changning center has registered 8,337 marriage registrations through July, a 26 percent increase year-on-year.
