The tire was flown from Lyon, France, to Shanghai Pudong International Airport, ahead of the French company's sixth CIIE appearance. It incorporates carbon black recovered from waste tires, bio-based oils and resins, bio-based synthetic rubber, silica extracted from rice husks, recycled steel, and renewable textile materials. Michelin said third parties have certified the materials, and the tire meets its high-performance standards.

The proportion of sustainable materials in Michelin's tires showcased at the CIIE has risen from 46 percent in 2021 to 53 percent in 2022, 63 percent in 2023, 71 percent in 2024, and 75 percent this year.

More than 30 companies based in Changning district are participating in this year's expo. Nine, including New Union Textile, Theland, and Brother, have attended all nine editions, while newcomers such as Pokemon are joining the district's delegation for the first time.
