Changning international tennis challenge opens for registration
Registration is now open for an international tennis challenge in Shanghai's Changning district, welcoming both Chinese and foreign players, with eight teams set to compete at the West Suburb Sports Center on Oct 31.
The one-day event, part of the Shanghai Amateur Games, runs from 8 am to 8 pm. Each team may have up to 18 members, including 16 players, one team leader, and one coach. All players must be amateurs or former professional players who retired for at least 10 years.
The tournament uses a group stage followed by a knockout format, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the gold-bracket knockout stage and the third- and fourth-place teams to the silver bracket. If the final ends in a 3-3 tie, a 15-point mixed-singles tiebreak will determine the winner.
The entry fee is 3,200 yuan ($476) per team. Players must sign a liability waiver and arrange their own sports accident insurance. Match balls will be provided, but players must bring their own rackets.
A lighting ceremony will follow at 6 pm, along with a buffet and lucky draw. Families and friends can apply for free spectator seats.
Register via the mini-program of "去哪兜兜" or by contacting the organizer at 13816370328.
