Will my residence permit be canceled after I change the job?

Q: My spouse and I are currently living in Shanghai. My spouse holds a Z-type visa, along with a valid work permit and residence permit. However, my spouse plans to resign from the current position in order to look for a new job.
If so, will the existing residence permit linked to the Z visa be canceled immediately, or will it remain valid for a certain grace period?
A: After your resignation, you should visit the exit-entry authority within 10 days with your resignation certificate to cancel your work and residence permits.
A one-month stay permit will then be issued as a transitional document and will serve as your lawful stay period during this time.
