Four Shanghai restaurants rated among Asia's 50 best in 2025

The highly anticipated Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2025 awards ceremony took place on March 25 in Seoul, Republic of Korea, shining the light on some of the region's most exceptional dining establishments.
Chinese cuisine had a strong impact on this year's rankings, reaffirming its influence on Asia's culinary scene, with four establishments from Shanghai rated.
The prestigious list is compiled by Asia's 50 Best Restaurants Academy, an influential panel of around 350 industry leaders — including food critics, chefs, restaurateurs and culinary experts.
"This year's ranking is a remarkable tapestry of dining establishments in 16 cities, with seven new entries showcasing the exceptional talent and innovative spirit that define Asia's culinary landscape," said William Drew, director of content at Asia's 50 Best Restaurants.
Shanghai secured four entries, led by Meet the Bund (No 14), which moved up 36 places and was named Best Restaurant on the Chinese mainland.
Other notable Shanghai establishments were Fu He Hui (No 15), Ling Long (No 27) and 102 House (No 29) — the latter known for chef Xu Jingye's inventive take on Cantonese banquet traditions using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
