Wuyou Coffee
Located in Liyao village, Fengxian district, Wuyou Coffee has established itself as a well-known rural destination for travelers looking for a laid-back escape. More than just a cafe, it serves as a meeting point where rural culture and natural scenery blend.
As the first tourism-related business of its kind in Liyao village, it has drawn large numbers of visitors and helped nearby businesses develop into a thriving local tourism cluster.
The cafe's architecture follows a modern take on traditional Jiangnan style, with white walls, dark tiles, and classic courtyard elements. A bright yellow inflatable pear decorates the rooftop. In Chinese, "pear (鸭梨, yā lí)" sounds like "pressure (压力, yā lì)," making the installation a lighthearted reminder to leave stress behind upon arrival.
The courtyard is enclosed by low bamboo fences, with gravel underfoot, rustic thatch-roofed huts, straw curtains, and white gauze drapes. Inside, floor-to-ceiling glass windows on all sides offer a view of the rice fields from every corner. Wooden tables and chairs, potted plants, and a children's area with a sandpit and netted hammocks make the space feel cozy and welcoming.
The menu features a wide range of coffee drinks, from Americanos and lattes to pour-over options, using locally sourced or premium imported beans. In addition to coffee, the cafe serves tea brewed over charcoal stoves, light meals, and both Chinese and Western snacks, so there is something for every taste.
Outside, the rice fields change with the seasons. In spring, colorful rapeseed flowers are in bloom. Summer brings waves of lush green rice, and autumn turns the fields golden. Visitors can sit back with a cup of coffee and take in the countryside views as the seasons shift.
