Peninsula 1919 Cultural and Creative Industry Park
Located in Baoshan district, the Peninsula 1919 Cultural and Creative Industry Park was originally the Shanghai No 8 Cotton Textile Factory, formerly the Great China Yarn Factory established in 1919 and renamed the Huafeng Yarn Factory in 1920.
The name "Peninsula 1919" comes from its unique location at the semicircular junction of the Wenzhao Creek and the Sitang River, and its founding year, 1919.
This park stands as a significant historical symbol to the achievements and challenges of Shanghai's textile industry. It preserves the most complete collection of textile industrial buildings in the Wusong area constructed between 1919 and 1932.

One of the park's most visually striking features is its century-old buildings. These buildings have been transformed into "readable architecture" with an online guide system. Visitors can scan QR codes to access its smart guide system, which provides audio and video content to help them explore and learn more about the history.

The Baoshan Textile Industry Civilization Exhibition Hall, located in the ground floor halls of Buildings 5A and 5B, is the first of its kind in Baoshan. It showcases the century-long history of Peninsula 1919 and the legendary story of Shanghai No 8 Cotton Textile Factory.
The exhibition hall combines textile industry heritage with modern cultural and creative industries. Situated in a renovated old factory, it highlights the impressive achievements of the textile industry since Shanghai opened its port. It also narrates the park's transformation journey and outlines plans for a future science and innovation center.
