Who can apply
- Scientists, tech leaders, entrepreneurs…
- Points-based system (above 85)
- No age, academic, or work experience limits
- In line with "Foreigners Employed in China Guide Catalog"
- Bachelor's degree or above, 2+ years work experience
- Age limit: 60 or less (flexible for special cases)
- Points-based system (above 60)
Documents required:
1. If you apply before entering China
- Application form for foreigner's work permit
- Identification documents as a foreign talent
- Work qualification certificate
- Highest degree and certification documents
- Approval documents and professional qualification certificates
- Certificate of no criminal record
- Certificate of physical examination
- Employment contract or certificate
- Passport or international travel certificate
- Applicant's photo
- Accompanying family members' credentials
- Other documents as required
2. If you apply after entering China
- Application form for foreigner's work permit
- Certificate of physical examination
- Valid visa or residence permit
- Other documents as required
How to apply
Onsite application:
- Shanghai Scientific and Technological Talents Development Center (1F, No 77 Meiyuan Road, Jing'an district)
- Shanghai Service Center for Foreigners Working in China (3F, No 1500 Minsheng Road, Pudong New Area)
Open: Monday to Thursday: 9:00 am - 11:30 am, 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Friday: 9:00 am - 11:30 am, 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
