The Fast Pass on Foreign Talents Remuneration Foreign Exchange is a service that simplifies currency exchange services for expats.

With the Fast Pass, expats who work in Shanghai no longer need to bring documents such as employment contracts, proof of income and tax completion certificates when they want to exchange Chinese yuan into foreign currencies.

Who can apply

Those who engage in urgently needed jobs in China and make contributions to China's economic and social development.

Applicants must have remuneration from a legal job in Shanghai.

How to apply

You can access Government Online-Offline Shanghai to apply for the Fast Pass online by searching "上海市外籍人才薪酬购付汇FastPass申请 (Apply for Fast Pass on Foreign Talents Remuneration Foreign Exchange )".  

You could go to the Administrative Center of Shanghai R&D Public Service Platforms (Shanghai S&T Talents Development Center/Shanghai Service Center for Foreigners Working in China) to apply offline.

Address: Windows 1-4, Shanghai Science & Technology Administrative Service Center, 1F,  Jimao Building, No 1525 West Zhongshan Road, Xuhui District;

Windows 17-19, 3F, No 1500 Minsheng Road, Pudong New Area (Single Window for Foreigners' Work Permit and Residence Permit).

Open: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm (except for statutory holidays)

You can also apply for the fast pass service through the WeChat mini-program "BOC Compass". Click on "FX Purchase with Salary" to access the "Overseas Personal Foreign Exchange Purchase with Salary" section, and choose "Shanghai" for an online pre-view.
