The Family Ironman Triathlon, as part of the 4th Shanghai Citizen's Games, will be held in Shanghai on April 27.

This is a light off-road obstacle challenge in the city, a race where parents and children work together to help children grow, and a carefully prepared parent-child extravaganza.

Competition Categories

1. Kindergarten Group: 50 families

2. Primary School Group: 100 families

3. Junior High School Group: 50 families

*If any category has less than 40 groups registered, the organizing committee will merge the categories.

Registration Period

April 8 - 15

Eligible Participants

1. All families that meet the age requirements for the competition categories, first come first served, registration closes when full.

2. Only parents accompanying their children are allowed to participate (one adult and one child or two adults and one child).

3. All registrants must be in good health and free from outdoor exercise-averse conditions such as heart disease and high blood pressure.

Scan the QR code — successful payment constitutes successful registration. Registration fees are non-refundable after successful registration.

200 yuan ($27.65) per family

Prizes

1. The top six families in each category will receive cash rewards of 800 yuan, 600 yuan, 500 yuan, 300 yuan, 200 yuan, and 100 yuan, respectively.

2. The top six families will be awarded trophies and certificates.

3. All finishing families will receive a medal.

Competition Description

Part one: Riding the Waves - Waterborne Championship

Families will use a double kayak to paddle along the designated route and retrieve the event-specific flag to return to the boat dock and hand it to the referee.

Part two: Breaking Through Thorns and Thistles - Land Obstacle Challenge

Families will complete the following tasks in order: crawl-through, rolling tires, climbing a peak, and aerial relay, all of which must be completed in cooperation between parents and children.

Part three: Bullseye - Slingshot Shooting Race

Families must collectively reach the shooting range and pop three balloons within two minutes.

Part four: Additional competitions

1. One-kilometer chase (families will complete a 1000-meter run on the designated track).

1. Track Upgrade: Super exciting urban track

This year's competition track will be upgraded, incorporating off-road elements for the first time, creating a light off-road obstacle race for parent-child pairs, combining competition with fun, and creating an eagerly anticipated urban family Ironman triathlon!

After the race, don't worry about dehydration or energy depletion. The organizing committee has prepared fruits, snacks, and drinks for all participating families.

The competition venue is located at Shanhe Stadium, No 755 Guangxing Road, Songjiang district, a part of the Shanghai Urban Sports Center and Shanghai Film and Television Shooting Base. Situated along the river, it is a peaceful and scenic location, making it a popular spot for photo opportunities.

4. Happy Carnival

The event site will feature a happy parent-child carnival, suitable for all ages, allowing families to enjoy parent-child time alongside the competition.
