Volvo China Open awaits fans in Shanghai

As China's national golf championship, the 2025 Volvo China Open will make a grand return to Shanghai after a decade from April 17 to 20 at the Shanghai Enhance Anting Golf Club, celebrating its 30th anniversary.
First introduced in 1995 as the inaugural international professional golf tournament in the Chinese mainland, the Volvo China Open has played a remarkable role in the development of Chinese golf over the past 30 years.
From pioneers including Cheng Jun and Zhang Lianwei to current stars such as Wu Ashun and Li Haotong, numerous Chinese players have pursued their dreams through the tournament, showcasing the country's strength on the global stage.
The event has traveled through cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Chengdu, and Tianjin, putting China on the map of global golf.
Back to Shanghai with a star-studded lineup
This April, the Volvo China Open is making its way back to Shanghai, with the total prize money increased to $2.5 million and the winner's purse at $425,000.

As a premier golf tournament sanctioned by the China Golf Association, DP World Tour, and China Tour, this year's event has attracted over 90 world-class players. Defending champion Adrian Otaegui from the UAE will return to defend his title won in Shenzhen last year.
Other confirmed participants include DP World Tour two-time winner Jordan Smith from England, French star Romain Langasque, 2011 champion Nicolas Colsaerts, and the only two-time Volvo China Open winner, Alexander Levy. Adding to the excitement, China's own 2016 champion, Li Haotong, will be back on home soil, aiming for his fifth career DP World Tour title.
As the penultimate stop in the DP World Tour's Asian Swing, this tournament plays a crucial role in determining the season's overall champion and may even secure a qualification spot for the PGA Championship, the year's second major.
Meanwhile, 2025 also marks the first year of the Shanghai Enhance Anting Golf Club's three-year hosting plan. Recognized as a world-class Platinum Club, it will open its doors to the public for the first time during the tournament, allowing golf enthusiasts to experience its exclusive and tranquil beauty.
A public festival beyond golf
With 30 years of history, the Volvo China Open has evolved beyond a mere golf tournament — it has become a festival for families and fans of all ages.
Beyond watching the thrilling competition, visitors can explore the public activity zone, which offers a world of entertainment. The interactive area features engaging activities such as working your swing on a simulator and attending a fun introduction to the sport. In the dining and relaxation area, you can enjoy a variety of delicious cuisines while LED screens provide live tournament updates.
A major highlight this year is the opportunity for fans to meet participating stars in the public zone. The tournament organizers have created a dedicated autograph area for golf enthusiasts.
