Registration opens for inaugural YRD International Triathlon

Registration is now open for the inaugural Yangtze River Delta International Triathlon, scheduled for May 18 in Shanghai's Qingpu district. The event is categorized as an A+ points race by the China Triathlon Sports Association.
The main venue is set at the Flower Goddess Square of Shanghai Grand View Garden by Yuandang Lake, which attracts top Olympic athletes and elite professionals from China and abroad.
The swimming, cycling, and running courses will wind through the ecological wetlands of Yuandang Lake, blending historical heritage with green innovation. The race will showcase the ecological and cultural beauty of the Jiangnan water-town region.

Yuandang Lake, a vital water body in the Yangtze River Delta Integrated Demonstration Zone spanning Shanghai and Jiangsu, has undergone significant ecological restoration, resulting in clear waters and lush greenery.
Participants in the swimming course will navigate the Jiangnan water network, with views of the modern Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou high-speed railway and reflections of ancient pavilions shimmering in the lake.

The cycling route follows the picturesque shoreline of Yuandang Lake. It consists of a thrilling three-lap, with each lap measuring 13.3 km and offering scenic lake vistas.

The 10 km running track winds through Shanghai Grand View Garden, 318 National Highway, and the ancient town of Jinze. The race concludes at the iconic "Square Hall and Water Courtyard", a landmark structure located at the junction of Shanghai, and Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, which demonstrates the integrated ecological development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
Athletes will have the opportunity to witness the results of cross-regional governance within the demonstration zone and experience the unique "10-minute walk through three regions" phenomenon at this iconic location.
