Global dance extravaganza lights up Hongkou

The Circle Dance Lab World (TCDL) final stage filled Hongkou Jingwu Stadium with excitement on June 29.

Since its inception in 2010, TCDL has evolved rapidly, becoming a well-known global street dance event by 2022. This year's competition attracted over 150 elite street dancers from countries such as China, France, Republic of Korea, Japan, Russia, and Italy, competing for top honors.

In the Open Style Battle 2on2, regional champions faced off against internationally renowned dancers, captivating the audience with their dynamic moves and creative choreography. The Breaking 4vs4 battles featured teams showcasing their skills through teamwork and high-difficulty techniques. The newly introduced Circle Queen women's competition highlighted top female dancers from around the world, who blended strength and grace during their captivating performances.

The event also featured special performances by several champion dancers from the popular show Street Dance of China, who joined the international panel of judges in delivering unforgettable showcases.

Beyond the dance floor, the event has energized the fusion of culture, tourism, commerce, and sports in Hongkou district. Nearly 2,500 people attended the competition, boosting local dining, accommodation, and retail consumption.
