Shanghai to host World Rowing Championships
For the first time in history, China will host the World Rowing Championships, with Shanghai set to welcome the prestigious event. This will be a standout event on the city's international sports calendar this year.
Athletes from across the globe will compete on the waters of Dianshan Lake at the Shanghai Water Sports Center, in a thrilling test of strength, speed, and teamwork.
Mark your calendars for this landmark event, taking place from Sept 21 to 28.
Over 1,200 athletes, coaches, and technical officials from more than 60 countries and regions will participate in this year's World Rowing Championships.
As Shanghai's first inclusive international rowing event, the championships will feature athletes with disabilities rowing alongside Olympic national team members in the same boats.
In preparation, the organizers have enhanced accessible facilities and will provide dedicated vehicles for some 50 athletes with disabilities.
