Exciting lineup set for 2025 Rolex Shanghai Masters

The 2025 Rolex Shanghai Masters is set to captivate tennis enthusiasts from Sept 29 to Oct 12 at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena in Minhang district, bringing together the sport's elite for two weeks of exciting competition.

The much-anticipated lineup has been officially revealed. At the forefront are the top two ranked players: defending champion Jannik Sinner and six-time Grand Slam winner Carlos Alcaraz.

This year's main draw is a showcase of excellence, boasting an impressive 18 Masters champions. Among these elite players, seven have clinched two or more Masters titles. Notable names include 2019 Rolex Shanghai Masters champion Daniil Medvedev, who holds ATP Masters six titles, 2023 champion Hubert Hurkacz with two, and 2024 champion Sinner, who has four titles to his name. Joining them are Alcaraz with eight titles, Alexander Zverev with seven, Stefanos Tsitsipas with three, and Andrey Rublev with two.

The tournament will also spotlight several young talents who have delivered outstanding performances this season. Indian Wells Masters champion Jack Draper is set to make his Shanghai debut. Meanwhile, last year's quarterfinalist Jakub Mensik returns as the Miami Masters champion, and the newly crowned Rogers Cup champion Ben Shelton will also be competing.

Adding to the excitement, this year's Madrid Masters champion Casper Ruud is on the brink of achieving the "Masters all-quarterfinals" milestone. His previous best at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena was a Round of 16 finish, a feat he's eager to surpass.

Moreover, the tournament will feature seven other players who have previously claimed Masters titles: Taylor Fritz, Karen Khachanov, Holger Rune, Grigor Dimitrov, Cameron Norrie, Alexei Popyrin, and Marin Cilic.

In addition to the Masters champions, the event promises a plethora of noteworthy stars. Among them, Chinese players are expected to shine, with Bu Yunchaokete competing in the main draw for the third consecutive year, marking the first time the 74th-ranked Chinese player has earned a main-draw appearance based on his world ranking, with his performance on home soil highly anticipated.
