The 2025 China Squash Open is scheduled to take place in Shanghai from Nov 11 to 16. This year marks a significant milestone for the tournament, as it is upgraded from a PSA Squash Tour silver event to a gold event.
The upgrade not only extends the competition to six thrilling days but also introduces an innovative dual-venue format. Preliminary rounds on Nov 11 and 12 will take place at the Diamond Squash Center, with the quarterfinals onward from Nov 13 taking place at the Xian Xia Tennis Center.
The elevated status has attracted a strong roster of top-tier players. A total of 48 professional athletes from 14 countries and regions are set to compete. Leading the men's singles lineup are world No 1, Mostafa Asal from Egypt, and defending champion Mohamed ElShorbagy. On the women's side, world No 2 Hania El Hammamy and last year's champion Rachel Arnold headline a formidable field. Chinese players Li Haizhen and Liu Ziyi will join as wildcard entries, poised to showcase their skills against the world's best.
