Tennis legends gather in Shanghai for 'Ace the New Year' showdown
The Ace the New Year & One-Point-Win Tournament 2026 will take place at the Shanghai Indoor Stadium from Feb 18 to 21. The event features a celebrity tennis exhibition and a thrilling amateur knockout competition, promising a festive tennis celebration for the Chinese New Year.
Star-studded lineup
The centerpiece of this year's Ace the New Year celebrity exhibition is an exceptional lineup of champions. Leading the roster is Australia's former world No 1 Ashleigh Barty, a three-time Grand Slam singles champion and holder of 15 WTA singles titles who triumphed across all court surfaces before her early retirement. She will be joined by a host of champions and fan favorites:
- Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina, the 2009 US Open champion.
- Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France, a two-time ATP Masters champion who reached a career-high ranking of world No 5.
- Feliciano Lopez, the Spanish veteran who made history as the fifth player ever to hit over 10,000 career aces. He is also currently serving as the Madrid Open tournament director.
- Wang Qiang, a two-time Chinese National Games women's singles champion and a dual Asian Games gold medalist.
- Li Zhe, a gold medalist in men's singles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles at the Chinese National Games.
