2026 Yangtze River Delta International Triathlon set for April

Registration is now open for the 2026 Yangtze River Delta International Triathlon, scheduled to take place from April 18 to 19 in Shanghai's Qingpu district.

Inaugurated in 2025, the Yangtze River Delta International Triathlon is a top-level national sporting event. This year, the competition will extend beyond Qingpu district to the neighboring city of Suzhou in Jiangsu province, marking an expansion of its regional footprint.

The race courses have been optimized for smoother cycling and running, offering athletes improved conditions to perform at their highest level.

Elite competitors expected to participate include Olympic medalists Javier Gomez Noya and Julie Derron, alongside leading Chinese triathletes such as Miao Hao, Feng Jingshuang, and Shanghai local Li Qisheng. The event will feature professional, age-group, and youth categories, catering to athletes of all levels.

Alongside the races, a three-day carnival at the Shanghai Grand View Garden will give visitors a vibrant taste of the area's local character.

The organizing committee will also introduce five themed tourist routes, offering athletes and spectators an opportunity to explore Qingpu district's scenic landscapes and recent development.

The event is limited to 900 participants, with registration closing at 4 pm on April 3 or when capacity is reached.
