F1 transport guide: Metro, parking, and road closures
The 2026 F1 Chinese Grand Prix is set to take place at Shanghai International Circuit from March 13 to 15. If you're planning to catch the action live, here's a handy transport guide to help you reach the circuit smoothly.
Q: What's the best way to get to the circuit?
A: Take Metro Line 11 to Shanghai Circuit Station. The station is located right next to the track, making it the most convenient option.
Q: Are there road closures or traffic restrictions?
A: Yes, traffic restrictions will be in place on March 14 and 15 from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, although the timings may be adjusted depending on live conditions.
The following roads will be closed to vehicles without an F1 parking permit and to non-motorized vehicles:
- Baiyin Road (from Linze Road to the circuit)
- Yi'ning Road (from Yunping Road to the circuit, and from Donghuan Road to the circuit)
- Anchen Road (from Bao'an Highway to the circuit, and from south of the Bao'an Highway overpass to the circuit)
- Anxiao Road (from Bao'an Highway to the circuit, and from south of the Bao'an Highway overpass to the circuit)
- East Yuanguo Road (from Youju Road to the circuit)

During the event, all F1 parking lots require a valid permit. Vehicles without a permit will not be allowed into the restricted areas.
Q: Where can I park if I have a permit? What about cars without a permit?
A: With a permit: Follow the signs and park in the designated lot corresponding to your permit.

A: Without a permit: Park at public lots or designated parking areas east of Shengxin Road, south of Bao'an Highway, or west of North Jiasong Road, depending on the grandstand you plan to visit. Alternatively, you can park at commercial complex parking lots near metro stations and take Line 11 to Shanghai Circuit Station.

Q: Where should ride-hailing services drop me off?
A: Get dropped off at either:
- The intersection of Baiyin Road and Linze Road (白银路与临泽路交叉口)
- The intersection of Donghuan Road and Yi'ning Road (东环路与伊宁路交叉口)
Drop-offs and pick-ups are not allowed in other restricted areas.
