What to know before you go
This schedule is subject to change. Please refer to official announcements for the latest updates.
Boats typically begin heading out to the race area 30 minutes before the competition starts. Spectators are advised to arrive at the viewing area 15 minutes early to watch the sailors prepare.
The warning signal is an important moment in any sailing race, indicating that the race will begin in five minutes. However, race schedules may shift depending on wind conditions or the pace of competition; therefore, finish times may vary from day to day. Visitors are advised to arrive early to avoid missing any of the action.
Best places to watch
The official main viewing area is at the South Island of Dishui Lake (reservation required), which offers an unobstructed view over the heart of the racing zone. With professional viewing facilities and a large screen broadcasting sailing commentary, it's the best spot to catch the J80, ILCA 6, and the newly added ILCA 4 youth class up close.
For a different perspective, this year has introduced a new viewing option at the Ring of Glory, an iconic landmark that offers a 360-degree view of Dishui Lake. You can also watch from various free spots around the lake. At the same time, a light show across lakeside buildings will enhance the atmosphere, creating an immersive waterfront experience.
Special deals for spectators
From now until April 19, spectators with a confirmed event reservation can enjoy exclusive discounts at shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues across Lin-gang.
The event has also teamed up with local hotels and attractions to offer packages that combine race viewing with accommodation and sightseeing. Special room rates are available at partner hotels, along with tickets or discount vouchers for popular destinations such as:
Shanghai Astronomy Museum — The largest planetarium in the world. Its main building features a spiral form meant to evoke the orbits of celestial bodies. Visitors can observe a vivid starry sky through one of the world's most advanced optical planetarium projectors or explore the mysteries of the universe in a state-of-the-art 23-meter-diameter ultra-high-definition dome theater.
Shanghai L+Snow Indoor Skiing Theme Resort — A large snow and ice resort complex spanning approximately 350,000 square meters. It features the world's largest indoor ski area, a year-round water park, a competition-grade ice rink, three star-rated hotels, a multi-purpose convention center, and a snow-themed commercial town.
Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park — A national 4A scenic area home to more than 100,000 rare marine animals, including polar bears and emperor penguins. The park offers six signature shows, 10 rides and attractions, China's first official Ultraman-themed entertainment zone, and a One Piece-themed area. On-site hotels feature over 400 themed guest rooms, enhancing the overall experience of a seaside adventure.
