Shanghai Rowing City Elite Regatta set to kick off on April 25
The 2026 Shanghai Rowing City Elite Regatta is scheduled to take place on April 25 and 26 at the Suzhou Creek Water Sports Center in Shanghai's Putuo district, drawing rowing talent from high-level foreign clubs, elite university teams as well as representatives from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region, alongside competitors from urban agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta region.
In addition to the water sport races, the event is poised to introduce a collaboration with the "Challenge Putuo" table tennis carnival. This partnership aims to provide an immersive experience that integrates cultural, commercial, tourism and sports elements for participants.
The competition will consist of two main events: the 500-meter sprint and the 1500-meter pursuit, featuring categories for elite athletes, masters, university competitors and youth groups.
A highlight of this year's event is the integration with the "Challenge Putuo" table tennis carnival. A dedicated table tennis experience zone will be set up to invite domestic and international rowing athletes to enjoy the charm of China's national sport and engage in social interactions. Participants are set to receive a special card, granting holders exclusive discounts at over 300 partner merchants.

diverse allure of Putuo. Two themed routes centered around the Suzhou Creek are available: "Sports + Suzhou Creek", connecting the Putuo Ice Sports Center, Tian'an 1000 Trees shopping mall, Suzhou Creek Cruise and Suzhou Creek Half Marathon Park; and "Culture + Suzhou Creek", featuring the M50 Creative Park, Suzhou Creek Cruise and Tian'an 1000 Trees shopping mall or the Global Harbor.
