UFC returns to Shanghai for back-to-back events in August

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Shanghai for the second consecutive year. On Aug 28 and 29, the Oriental Sports Center in Pudong New Area will host a two-night mixed martial arts event featuring the Road to UFC Season 5 semifinals and the UFC Fight Night Shanghai.

Event schedule

The action-packed event kicks off on Aug 28 with the semifinals of Season 5 of Road to UFC, as Asia-Pacific's top prospects battle for a spot in the finals and a chance to earn a UFC contract. The evening's main event is a lightweight bout between Chinese standout Nueraji Taiyilake and Darrius Flowers of the United States.

On Aug 29, UFC Fight Night takes center stage with a stacked card featuring a series of compelling matchups. China's Song Yadong will face Russia's Umar Nurmagomedov in the men's bantamweight division, while Yan Xiaonan of China takes on Brazil's Denise Gomes in the women's strawweight division. Sumudaerji of China will face US fighter Alex Perez in a flyweight bout.

Ticket information

Tickets are now on sale, starting at 280 yuan ($41.32). Fans can purchase tickets through four official channels: Migu Video, Juss Sports, Damai, and Trip.com.
