As Asia's premier women's road cycling event, the Tour of Chongming Island is a multi-stage race on the International Cycling Union's top-tier Women's WorldTour calendar. This year's Chongdong stage runs through the core area of Dongtan's Chenjia town, a route that has ranked among riders' favorites in past editions.

The three-day race features professional teams battling for the distinctive leader's jerseys, with a stage winner crowned each day. Riders face more than 100 km of racing each day over three consecutive days, while spectators enjoy the drama of sprint finishes, breakaway attempts, and tactical racing.

In addition to the elite race, Chongming has also introduced a 68-km eco-cycling path for cycling enthusiasts. Running parallel to the race route, the path links several scenic spots, including Dongtan Wetland Park and Yingdong village. With traffic separated from vehicles, the path offers a safe, peaceful ride with river breezes and wide-open views. Cyclists can take on the full 68 km to soak in Dongtan's natural scenery, while families can opt for shorter rides, watch migratory birds, and enjoy the riverside atmosphere.
