Registration to open soon for 2026 Shanghai Top Run Elite 10K Race
Registration is about to open for the 2026 Shanghai Top Run Elite 10K Race, scheduled to start on Nov 22 in Taopu town of Putuo district.
This year's race will gather more than 400 teams, including 200 from listed companies and their affiliates. All participants register as team members, with separate categories for enterprise and social teams.
Organizers will rank them by cumulative running distance through an online system to determine starting corrals. Team captains are also invited to post short promotional videos on Chinese lifestyle-sharing platform Xiaohongshu, with real-time rankings based on user engagement. The most popular teams can win preferred starting positions and on-site exposure.
The finisher medal will be produced by Shanghai Mint Company, which has made medals for the Olympic Games, the Winter Olympic Games, and the WorldSkills Competition. Runners can also earn qualifying spots for the Shanghai Suzhou Creek Half Marathon and the Shanghai Elite 10K Race.
The race will meet World Athletics Label Road Race standards, with high-precision timing, official referees, security, and on-site medical support. The starting area will be expanded, and the route will take runners through Taopu's urban landscape.
