The Shangyin Opera House is a music complex that exceeds 30,000 square metres, with five storeys above ground and three storeys below ground.
The highlight of the opera house is its "intelligent" concept, with electronic book-sized interactive colour display screens installed behind each seat. When in operation, the screens can not only provide information about the performances and actors but also display subtitles in different languages according to audience demand.
The subtitle service includes Chinese, English, Japanese, French, Russian, Italian, German and more. This technology is synchronised with international opera houses such as the Vienna State Opera.
