Huangpu Cultural Center opens its doors to public
Starting from Feb 24, the newly established Huangpu Cultural Center opens its doors to the public, presenting a distinguished cultural landmark in the very heart of Shanghai.

Situated at No 980 Zhonghua Road in the city's Huangpu district, the center enjoys very convenient access from both Laoximen Station on Metro Line 8 and Lujiabang Road Station on Metro Line 9 — and it's the 27th professional theater to join the Show Life network.
Founded in 2019, the Show Life alliance aims to unite show producers, cultural institutions and agencies from across the globe to cultivate the district as a hub for live entertainment.
The main theater within the Huangpu Cultural Center boasts a total seating capacity of 1,006, with 753 seats on the first floor — comprising 661 fixed seats and 92 movable seats in the orchestra pit. An additional 253 seats are available on the second floor.
The stage design is inspired by the Chinese character "品", featuring a central stage, backstage area and left and right-side stages.

In addition to the main theater, the center offers a versatile 270-seat venue that can be adapted to suit a variety of performance configurations.
Its architectural design draws inspiration from the natural beauty of mountains, rivers and terraces. The building’s segmented, textured white facades evoke a sense of harmony with the surrounding environment.
Inside, the elegant curves of the ceiling and walls, along with a starry sky effect, create an atmosphere reminiscent of flowing water and clouds — bringing a serene, natural aesthetic to the urban landscape.
Whether you're a fan of the arts, a parent seeking a cultural outing with the kids, or a grandparent in search of a tranquil setting, the Huangpu Cultural Center provides a handy space for everyone to engage with and appreciate the enriching experience of culture.
