Adidas West Bund Sports Park opens in Xuhui
With the new Adidas Greater China headquarters set to open in Shanghai's West Bund, the upgraded 5,000-square-meter Adidas West Bund Sports Park has opened to the public along the Xuhui waterfront.
Designed as an open-access public sports venue, the facility features six primary functional zones: a running hub, an elevated multi-sport court, an open-air functional training area, street basketball half-courts, a plaza-style skate park, as well as table tennis and pickleball areas.
The upgraded running hub, housed in four container-style spaces, serves as a community base camp equipped with lockers, changing rooms, product display areas, and lounge areas.
Visitors can try on current-season running shoes free of charge and sign up for professional community classes, including Pilates, yoga, and fitness training.
A key highlight is the newly built second-floor elevated court overlooking the waterfront. Outfitted with night lighting and spectator seating, the versatile space functions as both a standard basketball court and a pickleball court.
Directly beneath it sit two renovated 3v3 street basketball half-courts and an open-air functional training zone.
On the other side of the park, a redesigned skate park features ledges, banks, rails, and a mini bowl tailored for skaters of all skill levels.
Beyond daily sports access, the park will serve as a base for public-interest volunteer programs, including a nationwide companion-running program for visually impaired runners and sports classes for children with autism.
