Shanghai prepares cultural, visual feast for global tourists
With the Year of the Snake right around the corner, Shanghai has prepared a cultural and artistic feast for visitors worldwide, from paintings by Impressionist masters to Flamenco dance performed by the Spanish national treasure troupe and dazzling fireworks display at Shanghai Disneyland.

Masterpieces of The Pola Museum of Art: From Impressionism to Contemporary Art
This exhibition brings together nearly 70 classic works by Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masters such as Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Matisse, and Picasso, as well as contemporary artists like Wolfgang Tillmans, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and Yayoi Kusama.

Dialogues with Turner: Evoking the Sublime
Co-organized by the Museum of Art Pudong and Tate, the exhibition features over 100 works by Joseph Mallord William Turner. Turner is one of Britain's most admired and influential artists and is known as "the painter of light". Many of his works are on display in China for the first time.
El Anatsui: After the Red Moon
It is the largest installation art exhibition held at the Museum of Art Pudong since its opening. It presents a monumental sculptural installation crafted from thousands of metal bottle tops and fragments. The artist creates large panels that form expansive abstract fields of color, shape, and line by crumpling, crushing, and stitching these materials into various compositions.

Carmen by Granada Flamenco Ballet
Carmen was created initially by French realist writer Merimee and adapted into an opera by composer Bizet. It has been adapted into over 150 versions worldwide in the two centuries since its debut. The Spanish premier dance troupe, Granada Flamenco Ballet, presents the Shanghai performance.

Shanghai Disneyland Fireworks Show
Shanghai Disney Resort is already abuzz with the festive atmosphere! As a symbol of the Year of the Snake, decorations themed around Gary, a new reptile character from Zootopia 2, will be showcased during the Chinese New Year holiday.
From New Year's Eve (Jan 28) to Lantern Festival (Feb 12), the Chinese character "蛇" (snake) will bloom in the night sky, featuring Gary in the light.

Light Show
At 6 pm - 9:30 pm from Feb 1 to Feb 12, a light show will be staged in the West Nanjing Road commercial area, creating a festive interactive experience on Jiuguang Pedestrian Street and a romantic immersive light and shadow avenue at Jing'an Park.
At 6 pm - 10 pm from Jan 27 to Feb 12, snake-themed projection shows will be played on the Capitol Theatre on the Suzhou Creek riverbank and the green space of Waicuifeng Long beside the Huangpu River.
At 6 pm - 10:30 pm from Jan 27 to Feb 4, a collaborative light show will be performed every hour and every half hour on buildings in the Wujiaochang commercial area, such as Hopson One Mall, Hyatt Hotel, and Jiangwan Stadium.
