Shanghai to establish World Digital Education Alliance
The 2024 World Digital Education Conference is held in Shanghai from Jan 29 to 31, co-hosted by the Ministry of Education, the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.
The objective of the conference is to advance the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by promoting inclusive, equitable and high-quality education through the transformation of digital education. It will establish the World Digital Education Alliance, launch the international version of the National Smart Education Public Service Platform, showcase the achievements of China's cooperation with relevant countries in digital education and release significant education-related proposals.
The conference consists of four parts — the opening ceremony, a plenary session, six parallel sessions and the closing ceremony. Additionally, there will be an Exhibition on the Future of Digital and Smart Education during the conference, which will take place from Jan 30 to 31, focusing on the demonstration of China's concepts and practices in developing digital education.
Over 400 guests from over 70 countries and regions worldwide are participating in the conference, including leaders from invited countries, heads of important international organizations such as UNESCO, OECD and UNICEF, education ministers from nearly 20 countries, ambassadors and representatives from 43 national and international organizations in China and several renowned university presidents.
