Excitement is building for the 48th WorldSkills Competition as its official anthem and music video dropped on Aug 24, just weeks before the event opens in Shanghai from Sept 22 to 27. The song, Here We Shine, is sung by Xiao Zhan — a well-known actor and singer who is also the competition's promotional face.

With its energetic rhythm and lyrics in both Chinese and English, the track serves as an inspiring call to young skilled professionals around the globe. In the music video, animated characters representing different trades weave through Shanghai's famous landmarks, giving a fun and futuristic taste of what's in store.

Xiao's promotional efforts have already sparked massive attention, with related content amassing more than 700 million views online. The worldwide release of the song and video is poised to expand the competition's global influence and turn more eyes toward the value of vocational excellence.

This biennial event is the largest of its kind in the world. This year's edition, themed "Master Skills, Change Your Future", will feature 64 competitions across six major fields, ranging from manufacturing and construction to IT, creative arts, and personal services.

Organizers anticipate that the Shanghai gathering will set new highs in the number of events, new disciplines, participating countries and regions, and overall competitors. China will be represented by 71 participants, who will compete in every single one of the 64 skills categories.
