'Here We Shine' released as official song of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026

The official song and music video for the 48th WorldSkills Competition, to be held in Shanghai from Sept 22 to 27, were released on Aug 24, heightening anticipation for the global skills showcase.

Titled Here We Shine, the song is performed by Xiao Zhan, an actor and singer who serves as the competition's promotional ambassador. With an upbeat melody and energetic lyrics in both Chinese and English, the song invites young talents from around the world to join the event.

The music video features digital characters representing various skilled professions moving through Shanghai's streets and landmarks, offering a playful preview of the excitement surrounding the competition.

Xiao has been actively promoting the WorldSkills Competition since becoming a promotion ambassador for the event, and related topics have generated more than 700 million views across online platforms. The global release of the official song and music video is expected to broaden the competition's international reach and draw more public attention to vocational skills.

The WorldSkills Competition is the world's largest international skills event, held every two years. This year’s competition, under the slogan "Master Skills, Change Your Future", will feature 64 skill competitions across six sectors: manufacturing and engineering technology, transportation and logistics, construction and building technology, information and communication technology, creative arts and fashion, and social and personal services.

The Shanghai competition is expected to set new records for the number of competitions, new competitions, participating countries and regions, and competitors. China will field 71 entrants across all 64 competitions.
