The countdown is over and the skills are on show!

The 48th WorldSkills Competition will open in Shanghai tonight, bringing together young competitors from around the world to compete, connect, and showcase their skills. The competition runs through Sept 27.

This year's competition features 64 skill competitions across six sectors, with seven new skills making their debut, including Unmanned Aerial Systems, Digital Interactive Media Design, and Rail Vehicle Technology.

The skill competitions will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from Sept 23 to 26, with the opening and closing ceremonies at the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Center on Sept 22 and 27.
