A free shuttle bus service connecting Shanghai Metro Line 18 to the WorldSkills Museum began operating on Sept 16, providing visitors with easier access to the museum during the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai.

The first WorldSkills Museum shuttle departed from the Yangshupu Road-Jiangpu Road stop on the morning of Sept 16. The service operates as a one-way loop with three stops: Yangshupu Road-Jiangpu Road, near Exit 3 of Danyang Road Station on Metro Line 18; Oriental Fisherman's Wharf, with a temporary stop west of the Anpu Road-Jiangpu Road intersection; and the WorldSkills Museum, with a temporary stop on South Weinan Road.

Buses run about every 20 minutes, making it easy to travel between the metro station, the waterfront area, and the museum.

The shuttle will operate for 12 days through Sept 27. From Sept 16 to 21, the service runs from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Operating hours will be extended to 9:30 pm from Sept 22 to 27, except on Sept 25, when buses will run from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.

The route was originally planned with only two stops, Yangshupu Road-Jiangpu Road and the WorldSkills Museum, but Oriental Fisherman's Wharf was later added to provide an additional parking and transportation option for visitors arriving by car.

Parking near the museum may be relatively inconvenient during the competition, while the underground parking garage at Oriental Fisherman's Wharf has more parking spaces. Drivers can therefore leave their vehicles there and take the free shuttle to the museum.

The 48th WorldSkills Competition will take place in Shanghai from Sept 22 to 27. The WorldSkills Museum, located in Yangpu district, is the world's first museum dedicated to vocational skills.
