Bilibili World 2024 ignites Shanghai's anime, gaming scene

Bilibili World 2024 (BW2024), a highlight of the first Shanghai International Consumption Season, took place from July 12 to 14 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center Shanghai.

Organized by popular video-sharing platform Bilibili, this large-scale offline event has become a carnival for anime and e-sports enthusiasts.

Covering nearly 170,000 square meters, the expo drew over 700 exhibitors and 800 content creators from home and abroad. With more than 450 creator booths set up, the event attracted more than 250,000 visitors over three days, establishing itself as China's largest comprehensive ACG (Anime, Comics, and Games) expo.

BW2024 featured nine themed sections, offering diverse experiences for various user groups. The venue buzzed with cosplayers donning colorful outfits, photographers capturing memorable moments, and popular original IP product booths. Young visitors enjoyed gaming experiences, purchased creative merchandise, and relished in socializing with their peers.

Shanghai has become China's hub for anime and gaming culture, enriching the cultural lives of residents and driving consumption. The proliferation of anime exhibitions, themed events, and related merchandise sales has significantly boosted the local economy, injecting new vitality into Shanghai's commercial landscape.
