The 2024 World Design Cities Conference, or WDCC is scheduled to take place at the Shanghai Expo Urban Best Practices Areas from Sept 27 to 30, as announced by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization.

With the theme "Design Reframing Growth", the four-day event aims to intensify efforts in establishing a platform for global design exchange and collaboration. The conference seeks to explore new avenues for high-quality development driven by design, underscoring the city's dedication to integrating design into all facets of urban and daily life.

Shanghai's role as the host city for the WDCC for the third consecutive year underscores its position as a global hub for design innovation. This year's conference will feature a diverse array of activities, including an opening ceremony, exhibitions at both the primary Urban Best Practices Areas venue and overseas, three key summit forums, thematic forums focusing on four industries and five areas of design, as well as numerous citywide and overseas parallel events.

The conference will bring together international industry professionals, influential enterprises, and emerging fashion brands to unveil new design products and delve into the latest trends and innovations within the design sector.

The event is organized by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.
