On Sept 19, Shanghai began hosting a month-long visual extravaganza – featuring 129 activities and around 200 light shows spread across one central location and 12 sub-venues.

The Shanghai International Light Festival, running through Oct 18, will boast projection displays on iconic buildings, large-scale dome shows, water curtain displays, lighting ceremonies, light art installations, light music performances, and an exhibition focused on global landscape lighting.

These activities will be brought to life by leading international and professional teams.

The city will come alive with 119 illuminated nightspots spanning riverside locations along the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek, major business districts, historical landmarks, tourist sites, and cultural venues.

The Shanghai Exhibition Center in Jing'an district will serve as the festival's main venue, offering light shows and art installations from Sept 19 to 27.
