Entries open for Shanghai's 11th 'Think Youth' exhibition

Shanghai has launched the 11th "Think Youth" University Students' Cultural and Creative Works Exhibition.

Background

The exhibition aims to support Shanghai in building a world-class city of design, foster an enabling environment for cultural innovation and the development of creative industries in the Yangtze River Delta, strengthen links between campus innovation and cultural industry parks, facilitate the incubation and transformation of students' cultural and creative works, and support student innovation and entrepreneurship.

I. Content

(I) Collection and selection

1. Eligibility

Cultural and creative works completed during their studies by current university students, including postgraduate students and international students, from universities in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, as well as from member institutions of the "Think Youth" Yangtze River Delta Cultural and Creative Industry-Education Alliance.

Presentation formats include but are not limited to audio and video recordings, image displays, and written descriptions.

2. Categories:

Works are divided into four major categories.

- Comprehensive arts: Fine arts, film and television, as well as arts and crafts

- Art and design: Product design, environmental design, and visual communication design

- Costume, drama, music, and dance arts: Costume design, drama, dance, music

- Internet+ digital cultural creation: Internet+ cultural creativity, digital media art, animation, international competitions

3. Work selection:

- Based on internal selection processes, each institution shall recommend outstanding works to participate in the municipal-level selection.

- The number of works per sub-category should be no more than 15.

- Experts will evaluate the works and select award-winning entries for each category.

(II) Work exhibition

Forms: Category-specific exhibitions and a centralized exhibition.

(III) Work incubation

Outstanding works will be recommended to enterprises and investment institutions to attract venture capital and corporate participation, promote their marketization and commercialization of entries, connect with cultural and creative industry parks, and facilitate direct investment and incubation of promising works through cultural and creative industry funds.

II. Event implementation

(I) Schedule

1. Jury formation:

Each category's jury will consist of experts from investment institutions, incubation organizations, industry enterprises, university science parks, public welfare organizations, universities, and research institutes.

2. Submission period:

- Time: From March to April 2026

- Each university shall submit its internally selected works to the respective leading university for each category.

- Each work must include university name, work title, student information, including name, major, and year of study, supervisor's name, and a brief introduction of its innovative or creative highlights.

- Multiple submissions of the same work are not permitted, and previously award-winning works are ineligible.

3. Selection:

- Time: From April to May 2026

Each expert jury will conduct the work selection.

4. Category exhibition:

- Time: May 2026

Each category's leading university will organize one to two exhibitions and thematic forums based on the selection results.

5. Centralized exhibition:

- Time: From May to June

- Hosted by Shanghai Film Art Academy, the centralized exhibition will showcase outstanding student cultural and creative works.

Note: During the event, all universities shall make reasonable arrangements for students' exhibition activities in accordance with their teaching plans to ensure normal teaching order.

(II) Product promotion

Relevant government departments and industry enterprises will purchase award-winning student works and their copyrights.

By promoting outstanding works and facilitating industrial transformation, the event aims to stimulate university students' enthusiasm for innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

(III) Material submission

All universities shall submit the required forms, along with student works and other relevant materials, to the designated universities by category.
