Shorter Quarantine for Inbound Travelers
Shanghai adjusts COVID-19 management and control measures for key groups including inbound travelers starting from 00:00 on June 30.
Shanghai will adjust the disease management and control measures for key groups including inbound travelers as follows in light of the requirements proposed by the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council in the
Protocol on Prevention and Control of COVID-19
(Edition 9) for further improvement of disease containment across the city, according to the announcement released by the Office of Shanghai Municipal Leading Group on Preventing and Controlling COVID-19.
I. Inbound travelers will be subject to 7-day centralized quarantine for medical observation + 3-day home-based health monitoring. Those travelers whose destinations are other cities in the Yangtze River Delta region will be transferred under the closed-loop management.
II. Close contacts of COVID-19 cases will be subject to 7-day centralized quarantine for medical observation + 3-day home-base health monitoring.
III. Close contacts of the close contacts (secondary contacts) described in the preceding paragraph will undergo 7-day home-based quarantine for medical observation.
IV. Individuals who have traveled to or lived in the COVID-19 high-risk areas in the past 7 days will be subject to 7-day centralized quarantine for medical observation after arrival in Shanghai.
V. Individuals who have traveled to or lived in the COVID-19 medium-risk areas in the past 7 days will have 7-day home-based quarantine for medical observation after arrival in Shanghai.
VI. Individuals who have traveled to or lived in the COVID-19 low-risk areas in the past 7 days need to complete two PCR test within 3 days after arrival in Shanghai and ensure self-health monitoring.
VII. All involved individuals shall follow the requirements of the country and Shanghai to take PCR tests.
VIII. The aforesaid measures takes effect from 00:00 on June 30, 2022.
