What's the 'Shanghai Sports' brand event?

Shanghai set up the "Shanghai Sports" brand event certification system in an effort to become a more competitive and capable host city of current and future international sports events.
After evaluating events based on five primary indicators – event influence, organizer's qualification, scale, financial support and contribution to Shanghai's city image – along with expert discussions, the first 18 events certified and recognized in the "Shanghai Sports" brand event directory were announced, including the F1 Chinese Grand Prix and the Shanghai Marathon.
