2025 goals: Qingpu district to focus on balanced development
Editor's note: 2025 marks the final year of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25). During their annual "two sessions", Shanghai's districts outlined their agendas for the year ahead. Let's take a closer look.
Qingpu district aims to highlight the pivotal role of the Yangtze River Delta Demonstration Zone as a model of regional integration in 2025 while leveraging the Hongqiao International Hub to strengthen its regional economy and advance its role as a gateway for opening-up.
These goals were outlined in the district’s government work report, delivered at the fifth session of the sixth Qingpu District People's Congress on Jan 8.
The government report emphasizes the district’s commitment to achieving both qualitative and quantitative development through the transformation and upgrading of its industrial structure, trade models, and spatial development to foster internal growth momentum.
With a focus on innovation, the district plans to integrate resources with talent-friendly policies to nurture new quality productive forces.
In a bid to achieve high-end development and improve residents' sense of fulfillment, the district will focus on supporting key populations and areas, bridging urban-rural divides, and optimizing resource allocation and utilization.
Safety and disaster prevention is also a highlight of the district's plan for 2025. It aims to systematically improve its management mechanisms from the outset while maintaining a strong focus on preventing systemic risks.
